Constitution
The Constitution of the Old Boys' Association of St. Sebastian's College, Moratuwa sets out how the Association is named, governed, and funded - and how it serves past pupils and the College.
Main objective
To promote comradeship and welfare among past pupils and contribute to the development of both OBA members and the College.
Patron
Archbishop of Colombo. Vice Patron (Ex-Officio): Rector of the College.
Membership
Past pupils can join as Ordinary Members or Life Members. Distinguished individuals may receive Honorary Membership.
Management
The Association is governed by a General Committee, including the President, General Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Secretaries/Treasurer, Vice Presidents and elected Committee Members.
Committee representation
Recognized Old Boys' Groups can nominate representatives to the General Committee.
Meetings
The Constitution provides for General Meetings, Special General Meetings, Annual General Meetings (AGM), General Committee Meetings and Project/Sub-Committee Meetings.
Elections
Office bearers and Committee Members are elected through the AGM election process, with eligibility, nominations and voting procedures defined in the Constitution.
Finance
The Treasurer is responsible for the Association's funds and accounts, with annual accounts subject to independent auditing.
Branches
Old Boys' groups or batches in Sri Lanka or overseas can apply to become recognized OBA branches.
Amendments
Changes to the Constitution require a two-thirds majority at a General Meeting.
Winding up
If the OBA is dissolved, its remaining funds are to be used for university scholarships for high-achieving College students.
